Priscilla Sopitan is a second-year student at American University. She is studying Economics with an interest in law and criminal justice. Additionally, she is a student in the AU Honors Program. Her hometown is Boston, Massachusetts and is a Nigerian-American with Yoruba roots.

“My love of Afrobeat stems from the deep connection I have with my cultural background.”

Beyond the AU Honors community, she plans on continuing to uplift and empower Black students from all over the diaspora as co-founder of the Bolin Scholars Society, in which serves Black pre-law students on the American University campus who seek professional, law school prep, and training. This program will be launching fall 2022, and should be considered as a diversity and inclusion organization on the university’s campus.
